Fort Myers Miracle starting pitcher Kyle Waldrop tossed 5 1/3 innings allowing just four hits and striking out six before turning it over to teammates Yohan Pino and Angel Garcia, who kept the shutout intact, as the Miracle beat the Lakeland Tigers 1-0 Monday night at Hammond Stadium.

Pino tossed two innings, scattering just two hits and fanning four, while Garcia finished the night for his first save of the season, hurling 1 2/3 innings giving up just one hit with a pair of strikeouts. The Miracle’s 12 strikeouts are a season high .

The win is the third straight for the Miracle (5-5), who have won five of their last six since starting the season 0-4.

Lakeland starter Andrew Miller, a first-round draft pick (sixth overall), of the Detroit Tigers last June, tossed eight innings, allowing just the one run on six hits and six strikeouts.

The Miracle took advantage of two errors in the third that led to their only run. With one out, Toby Gardenhire reached on a fielding error. Steve Tolleson grounded to third but Miguel Linares’ throw to second base was wide sparing Gardenhire. Dwayne White’s RBI single to right, extending his hitting streak to six straight games, drove in Gardenhire from second.

The teams meet again Tuesday night at Hammond Stadium with Oswaldo Sosa (0-1, 6.14) on the hill for the Miracle.
