By Special to the Fort Myers News-Press CLEARWATER — An RBI single off the bat of Orlando Guevara tallied the only run of the afternoon Sunday, giving the Clearwater Threshers a 1-0 victory over the Fort Myers Miracle at Bright House Networks Field on Sunday afternoon. Pitching was the main story. Fort Myers pitchers Oswaldo Sosa and Kyle Aselton combined for 15 strikeouts, while Clearwater starter Carlos Carrasco tossed seven innings of shutout ball. Carrasco allowed three hits in picking up his second win of the season. Reliever Allen Davis tossed a perfect two innings in relief. Miracle starter Sosa gave up one run on two hits with eight strikeouts in his 4 1/3 innings of work. Aselton followed with seven strikeouts and two hits allowed in 3 2/3 innings. Fifteen of the 24 outs were strikeouts. Game two of the series will take place tonight as the Miracle send lefty Alexander Smit (0-0, 5.89) to the mound.
