By Special to The News-Press CLEARWATER — Fort Myers' offense was looking for a spark and the Miracle found it in three guys hitting a combined .218 as the Miracle ended their three-game skid and defeated the Clearwater Threshers 9-5 on Tuesday night. Mark Zamojc (.169), Jose Leger (.250) and Luke Hughes (.200) stepped up big in helping the Miracle get the win. With the Threshers leading 1-0 in the second, Zamojc singled to center with one out and moved to second on an infield single by Leger. Hughes singled to right to drive in Zamojc and tie the game at 1. In the fourth, Kyle Geiger singled to center, and Zamojc doubled him to third. Geiger scored on a sacrifice fly by Leger to give the Miracle a 2-1 lead. After the Threshers tied it in the bottom of the inning, the Miracle exploded for six runs in the sixth inning. Zamojc went 4-for-5, with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base. Leger was 2-for-4, with two RBI and a run scored, and Hughes was 2-for-5, with a double, RBI and a run scored. Miracle starter Anthony Swarzak went 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out five in picking up his second victory of the season. The teams will meet at 7:05 tonight in the finale of the three-game series. The Miracle will start right-hander Scott Tyler (5-8, 3.88 ERA) against Thresher righty Scott Mathieson (3-6, 4.00 ERA).
