Special to the Daily Breeze Monday’s date had been circled on the calendar for both the Fort Myers Miracle and Clearwater Threshers for over a week. A four-game series over three days, beginning with a doubleheader at Hammond Stadium, was going to do a lot for the race in the Florida State League’s Western Division. Mother Nature stepped in with a series of thunderstorms before the scheduled 5 p.m. start and now the four-game series will take place over two days — doubleheaders both Tuesday and Wednesday, starting at 5:05 p.m. All four games will be seven innings with the second game beginning approximately 25 minutes after the conclusion of the first. The Miracle will send left-hander Kyle Aselton (8-3, 3.10 ERA) to the mound to start the first game and the Threshers will counter with lefty Zach Cline. The Tampa Yankees and Sarasota Reds also were washed out Monday, so the top of the division standings didn’t change with the Miracle holding a one-game lead over the Yankees and a 1 1/2-game lead on the Threshers with 15 games to go.
