Special to the Cape Coral Daily Breeze TAMPA — The Fort Myers Miracle’s second-half playoff push continued to roll Wednesday night with a 5-2 road victory over the Tampa Yankees at Legends Field. The Miracle have won 10 straight games, a Florida State League season-high, and have put together the second-best win streak in Miracle history. Erik Lis blasted another home run early Wednesday, helping the Miracle (30-23) pull within three games of first place in the FSL’s second-half standings. After Brian Dinkelman’s leadoff double in the first, Lis connected with his third home run in two nights, a two-run shot to right, staking the Miracle to a 2-0 lead. After Edward Ovalle’s RBI-single, a throwing error by Marcos Vechionacci at third base and an RBI-groundout by Dwayne White, the Miracle had sent all nine hitters to the plate in a five-run, six-hit onslaught to begin the game. The five runs was plenty of run support for Miracle starter Jeff Manship, who gave up an RBI-double to Jared Greenwood in the second inning and a run-scoring single to Perez in the sixth. Manship (7-3) went six innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, a walk and five strikeouts. Relievers Kyle Aselton, J.P. Martinez and Eddie Morlan slammed the door the rest of the way. The Miracle go for win No. 11 and a three-game sweep of Tampa Thursday night. Webposted on August 16, 2007
