DUNEDIN — A strong outing by Errol Simonitsch along with a four RBI night from Juan Portes helped the Fort Myers Miracle beat Dunedin 7-4 on Friday in Florida State League play.

Simonitsch allowed one run in seven innings, and Portes went 3-for-4 at the plate with a two-run home run.

A one-out, first inning single by Dustin Martin and a two-run single by Portes staked the Miracle out to a 3-0 lead after three innings.

After a two-out walk to Martin kept the seventh inning alive, Portes blasted his 12th homer of the season for a five-run cushion.

After Dunedin scored a run in the bottom of the seventh, the Miracle added a run in the eight on an RBI single by Steve Tolleson and a run in the ninth on an RBI by Dwayne White.

Dunedin scored three in the bottom of the ninth, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Miracle from their third straight win.
