A night after dropping a one-run game to the Palm Beach Cardinals, the Fort Myers Miracle reversed the trend with a 6-5 victory Tuesday night at Hammond Stadium.

The Miracle relied on timely hitting and solid pitching for the win. Trailing 2-0 in the second inning, the Miracle got on the board with an RBI single from Brett Tamburrino. One inning later, a couple of two-out RBI gave the Miracle the lead. Doug Deeds ended a 0-for-15 slump with an RBI single and Jose Morales followed with one of his own.

After the Cardinals tied the game in the fourth inning, the Miracle answered back in the fifth with a sacrifice fly by Deeds. They got an insurance run when Garrett Guzman hit his second homer of the season, leading off the sixth. Guzman finished the night 3-for-4, with a homer, RBI and a run scored.

The Cardinals, however, put up two runs in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Andy Schutzenhoffer and an RBI ground out from Kevin Estrada.

The Miracle regained the lead in the seventh. Ron Perodin singled, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a two-out single by Morales.

Justin Olson nailed down the victory by tossing the final 2.1 innings. He didn’t allow a hit and walked just one, while striking out one, for his sixth victory of the season.

The teams will meet at 7:05 p.m. today at Hammond Stadium.
