A single run was all the Fort Myers Miracle needed to dispose of the Clearwater Threshers in one of the quickest Florida State League games in team history on Monday night at Hammond Stadium.

Kaulana Kuhaulua's second-inning fielders' choice scored Garrett Guzman, and proved to be the difference as the Miracle won 1-0 in 1 hour, 46 minutes.

Miracle pitcher Nick Blackburn, making his first start since joining the team on July 21 from Quad City, tossed seven scoreless innings en route to collecting his first victory. Blackburn allowed five hits and struck out five. Levale Speigner pitched the final two innings and collected his first save.

After Guzman led off the second with a single, Jose Morales walked and Brett Tamburino sacrificed the runners over. Guzman then scored on Kuhaulua's groundout.

The same two teams play at 7 tonight at Hammond Stadium.
