By SPECIAL TO THE NEWS-PRESS First baseman/outfielder Mark Zamojc was promoted to the Fort Myers Miracle on Saturday from the Beloit (Wisc.) Snappers. The 23-year-old Zamojc, a left-hander, was hitting .237, with five homers and 30 RBI, in 62 games with Beloit, Minnesota's low Class-A affiliate. Zamojc, a 42nd-round pick of the Twins in the 2003 draft out of Burlington, Ontario, played his first professional season in 2004, hitting .239, with one homer and 46 RBI at Quad Cities. Zamojc will be unable to play for the Miracle until Monday while he finishes a suspension for his part in a bench-clearing brawl while with Beloit. Webposted July 3, 2005 |
