Fort Myers' Nick Blackburn beat Tampa's Tyler Clippard in a battle of Florida State League All-Stars on Thursday night as the Miracle defeated the Yankees, 6-1, at Hammond Stadium.

Blackburn went seven innings, allowing one run on eight hits while walking one and striking out one.

With the Miracle leading 2-1 in the sixth, the Yankees had a runner at first and one out. John Urick doubled down the right-field line. Grant Plumley tried to score from first, but right fielder Scott Whitrock hit relay man Brock Peterson, who fired a strike to the plate to nail Plumley.

Peterson belted his eighth homer of the season, a two-run shot to give the Miracle a 4-1 lead. Peterson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

The same two teams meet tonight at 7:05.
