Miracle lose to Reds

The Sarasota Reds defeated the Fort Myers Miracle, 8-5, on Sunday afternoon in Sarasota, giving the Reds their first win of the season over Fort Myers.

The Miracle had won the first seven meetings between the two clubs, but could manage only two hits in the first five innings.

Sarasota had a 4-1 lead in the seventh inning when the Reds' Joey Votto hit a grand slam to put the game out of reach.

The teams will play again at 7 p.m. tonight in Sarasota. Nick Blackburn will pitch for the Miracle.
