Special to The News-Press Matt Tolbert went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI, and Trent Oeltjen and Brock Peterson each added two hits to help the Fort Myers Miracle topple the Vero Beach Dodgers 5-2 in the opener of Tuesday night's Florida State League doubleheader at Hammond Stadium. The Dodgers crushed the Miracle 15-0 in the nightcap. Miracle starter Justin Jones tossed his first career complete game in the opener, allowing 12 hits while striking out eight. The two teams will conclude their four game series at 7:05 tonight at Hammond Stadium. Right-hander Anthony Swarzak (0-1, 4.50 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Miracle. Webposted July 27, 2005 |
