Special to the Cape Coral Daily Breeze SARASOTA — A two-run blast by Luis Ugueto in the top of the fourth inning gave the Fort Myers Miracle the lead for good in a 5-2 win over the Sarasota Reds Thursday night. Ugueto, along with Danny Valencia, had two hits and a pair of RBI as the Miracle picked up their third straight win, and their seventh in the last eight games. Steve Tolleson ignited a quick start by the Miracle in the first. He drew a leadoff walk and motored to third on Juan Portes’ double to left. A couple of hitters later, Valencia drove in Tolleson with an RBI-single to left. Sarasota bounced back with runs in the second and third to take their only lead of the night. B.J. Szymanski delivered an RBI-single to left in the second, and Danny Dorn’s run-scoring single to center an inning later gave the Reds a 2-1 lead. After Edward Ovalle’s infield single with one out in the Miracle fourth, Ugueto connected for his second home run of the season and put the Miracle back on top at 3-2. An RBI-triple by Valencia in the fifth, and Jeff Christy’s sacrifice-fly in the sixth added a bit of insurance in the 5-2 win. Kyle Aselton, making the spot start, tossed four innings and allowed both Reds runs on three hits. David Shinskie tossed three innings, allowing just two hits and striking out three. Rob Delaney earned the save by working the final two innings, giving up one hit while fanning four. The same two teams meet at 6 p.m. Friday in Sarasota to close out a six-game road trip for the Miracle (14-14). The Miracle will look for their second four-game win streak in nine days behind right-hander Jay Rainville (5-9, 3.75) against Reds righty Robert Manuel (5-3, 3.16). Webposted on July 20, 2007
