Special to the Cape Coral Daily Breeze Fort Myers Miracle infielder Brian Dinkelman is the Twins’ Minor League Player of the Week for July 14-20, the club announced Monday. Dinkelman, 23, hit .407 in six games with two home runs and six RBI. The eighth-round selection in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft was promoted to the Miracle from Beloit on June 23 and currently is hitting .330 over 26 games with four homers and 14 RBI. Over the weekend, the Miracle got pitcher Kyle Waldrop back from Double-A New Britain. The first-round pick of the 2004 draft began the season in Fort Myers and was 4-2 with a 2.86 ERA before being called up to New Britain, where he was 5-6 with a 5.34 ERA. Pitchers Oswaldo Sosa and Yohan Pino were promoted to New Britain while catcher Allan De San Miguel, who played for the Miracle in 2005, was added to the Miracle roster from Beloit. He was summoned from the Midwest League to replace Caleb Moore, who was assigned to Elizabethton in the Appalachian League. Moore, a catcher in the Twins organization for the last three years, will begin a new role as pitcher at the rookie league level. Another former Miracle pitcher, Tim Lahey, made the switch from catcher prior to the 2005 season. Former Miracle pitcher J.D. Durbin pitched his first career complete game shutout Sunday as the Philadelphia Phillies blanked the San Diego Padres 9-0 to win his second straight start. The right-hander was 9-2 with a 3.09 ERA with the Miracle in 2003. Webposted on July 24, 2007
