Twins to hold 2008 Fantasy Camp in Fort Myers

The Minnesota Twins, in conjunction with Sports Adventures, have announced plans for the annual Minnesota Twins Fantasy Camp scheduled for Jan. 12-20, 2008, at the Lee County Sports Complex in Fort Myers.

A joint initiative of the Twins and Sports Adventures, the Twins Fantasy Camp is a weeklong event for individuals 30 years of age or older. Campers will be able to take Major League-style batting and infield practice on the Twins Spring Training fields and play up to two games each day. Campers will receive instruction each day from former Twins players attending the camp.

The week concludes with the opportunity for campers to play a game against former Twins greats. Those who have been invited to participate include Gary Allenson, Julio Becquer, Bert Blyleven, Dave Boswell, Mike Caldwell, Bill Campbell, Jim Corsi, Mudcat Grant, Jerry Koosman, Gene Larkin, Tim Laudner, Rick Miller, Jerry Moses, Frank Quilici, Eric Rasmussen, Lee Stange, Butch Wynegar, Hall of Famers Harmon Killebrew and Brooks Robinson and Twins announcer Dick Bremer.

The Twins Fantasy Camp package includes a chance to play in the Metrodome next summer, a Major League uniform and accessories, daily lunch and breakfast at the clubhouse, deluxe hotel accommodations, an opening night reception and dinner, as well as a closing night banquet with photos and autographs of your favorite pros.

The cost of the camp is $3,895 with a discount of $500 offered to veteran campers. A $1,000 deposit is required with the balance due on Nov. 1, 2007. All major credit cards are accepted.
