By Special to the Naples Daily News The Florida State League announced today that Miracle pitcher Jeff Manship has been named FSL Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 23-29. The 22-year old right-hander compiled a 1-1 record with a 0.75 ERA over 12 innings pitched. He struck out 16 and only allowed one earned run. Last Monday, the former Notre Dame standout scattered six hits on one earned run over seven innings, while striking out 12 against Lakeland. Saturday night he didn’t allow an earned run in five innings against Tampa. Manship began the year in Single-A Beloit before being recalled in June and has compiled some impressive numbers. He is a combined 12-3 with 1.79 ERA, in 20 games started, with 122 strikeouts over 120 2/3 innings. His next start is scheduled for Thursday night against Lakeland at Hammond Stadium. The 14th-round draft pick of the Twins in the 2006 draft is the fourth Miracle player to be honored this year by the Florida State League.
