A season-high 17 hits to go with a four-run first inning propelled the Fort Myers Miracle to an 8-3 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads on Friday.

Danny Valencia picked up four hits, Steve Tolleson added three and Miracle starter Jeff Manship worked 7 2/3 innings for the Florida State League win.

Cody Ross, playing in his third rehabilitation game from the Florida Marlins, belted a mammoth home run to put Jupiter up 1-0 early. After Tolleson and Brian Dinkelman each singled, Erik Lis' ground ball to short started the scoring.

A throwing error by Hammerhead shortstop J.R. Taylor allowed Dinkelman and Tolleson to score. Valencia followed with an RBI single to center, and Dwayne White brought in Valencia with his single to right to give the Miracle a 4-1 lead.
