FORT MYERS — Jupiter right-hander Brett Sinkbeil pitched a seven-hit shutout, leading the Hammerheads to a 3-0 win against the Fort Myers Miracle on Wednesday night.

Sinkbeil (4-4) struck out four and walked one.

Catcher John Purdom was 1-for-3 with two RBI to lead Jupiter.

Yankees 8, Mets 7: St. Lucie third baseman Daniel Murphy homered and doubled and drove in three runs, but the Mets fell short in their rally from a 6-1 deficit to visiting Tampa.

Left fielder Sean Henry had two hits, including a two-run home run, and center fielder Dustin Martin also had two hits for the Mets.

Threshers 5, Cardinals 4 (11): Jason Donald singled home Lou Marson in the top of the 11th as Clearwater edged Palm Beach at Roger Dean Stadium.

Palm Beach shortstop Jason Donald was 4-for-6 with a double and three RBI in the loss.
