By Daily News staff Make that Mother Nature five, Fort Myers Miracle zero. For the fifth straight day, the Miracle had a game disrupted by rain, this time after one-half inning on Sunday afternoon at Hammond Stadium against the Dunedin Blue Jays. Miracle starter Adam Harben allowed a walk, a single and struck out three in the top of the first inning. After Blue Jays starter David Purcey completed his warm-up tosses, the skies opened up and dumped enough water to cover the outfield. After a 45-minute delay, the umpires called the game. The two teams will attempt to play a doubleheader today beginning at 4:05 p.m. Webposted June 6, 2005 |
