By Daily News staff The Dunedin Blue Jays handed the Fort Myers Miracle its first loss in the second half of the Florida State League season Sunday, 7-4 at Dunedin's Knology Park. The Miracle had won seven straight, a streak started before the all-star break, and were 3-0 in the second half. With the win Sunday, Dunedin improved to 5-0 in the second half. The Miracle now trail Dunedin by 1 1/2 games in the Western Division. Justin Jones, a former Cubs prospect that started the season in extended spring training for the Twins, made his first start for Fort Myers. Jones allowed three runs on seven hits in four innings. The Miracle and Blue Jays will play again at 7:05 tonight in Dunedin. Tristan Crawford (2-1) will take the hill for Fort Myers. Webposted June 27, 2005 |
