Aselton Sent to DL, Miracle Get Duensing From Beloit

FORT MYERS, FL - Miracle left-handed starter Kyle Aselton didn't look himself over his last three starts. Turns out he was battling a problem with his pitching elbow and on Monday he was placed on the disabled list with a left elbow strain. The Miracle receive left-handed pitcher Brian Duensing from Single-A Beloit to take his spot in the rotation.

The 23-year-old Aselton had lasted just 5.2 innings in his last three starts and for the season is 4-2, 4.56 in 11 games. In 49.1 innings he walked 26 and struck out 44 while the opposition hit .279 against him. Prior to his last three starts he pitched at least 5.0 innings in six of eight starts and went 7.0 innings allowing one run on four hits on 5/17 at Palm Beach.

The 23-year-old Duensing was a third round pick by the Minnesota Twins in 2005. This season at Beloit he was 2-3, 2.94 in 11 games. In 70.1 innings he walked 15 and struck out 55 while the opposition hit .257 against him. He had the second lowest ERA among the starters at Beloit and is tied for fifth in innings pitched in the Midwest League.

The Miracle roster now sits at 23 players, two shy of the maximum of 25, with 11 pitchers and 12 position players.
