Miracle get franchise win 1,000 in Daytona

The Fort Myers Miracle won the 1,000th game in franchise history on Friday night, downing the host Daytona Cubs, 11-6.

The win pushed the Miracle (32-22) into first place in the Florida State League’s Western Division standings.

Fort Myers jumped ahead 5-0 in the first on a two-run single by Brock Peterson, and RBI double by Matt Tolbert, an RBI groundout by Jeremy Pickrel and a sacrifice fly by Trevor Plouffe.

The same two teams play again tonight at 7:05. Justin Jones (1-0) will face Carlos Perez (0-2).
