By Special to the Fort Myers News-Press CLEARWATER — Carlos Carrasco took a one-hitter into the ninth before allowing two more Miracle hits as the Clearwater Threshers blanked Fort Myers 6-0 on Monday in Florida State League action. It was the second straight shutout win for the Threshers as they moved to 5-0 at home against the Miracle this season. Carrasco, touted by Baseball America as the best prospect in the Philadelphia Phillies’ organization, picked up his fourth career complete game. Steve Tolleson led off the game for the Miracle with a single up the middle. Carrasco retired the next 26 hitters. Carrasco gave up a two-out single to Tolleson and a double down the right-field line to Juan Portes in the ninth for the final two hits. Scoring for the Threshers began in the fourth as Miracle starter Zach Ward was in control until a two-out throwing error by shortstop Luis Ugueto kept the inning alive. After a Lou Marson walk, John Urick hit an opposite-field, three-run shot to give Clearwater a 3-0 advantage. Three consecutive Clearwater hits in the fourth inning led to the final three runs.
