The St. Lucie Mets scored six unanswered runs, including four in the eighth, to grab a 6-1 win over the Fort Myers Miracle on Wednesday at Hammond Stadium.

Emmanuel Garcia, 4-for-5 with two runs scored on the night, and Daniel Murphy, 2-for-4 with three RBI, provided the Mets offense in the win.

After Edward Ovalle led off the third by reaching on an error from Dan Murphy at third, Dwayne White laced a single to center to put runners at the corners with no outs in what looked to be a promising inning for the Miracle. Caleb Moore hit into a double play to bring in Ovalle.

The Mets tied it up with Murphy’s first RBI single of the night in the sixth, before his second run-scoring hit in the eighth brought home Garcia to trigger the four-run frame.

Twins’ White joining Miracle

Minnesota Twins outfielder Rondell White will begin a five-game rehabilitation stint with the Miracle on Friday. White has been out since April 10 because of a strained right calf.
