By Treasure Coast Palm staff reports FORT MYERS — The Vero Beach Devil Rays won a rain-shortened seven inning game over the Fort Myers Miracle, 8-2, on Thursday night at William Hammond Stadium. Hunter Vick, Patrick Cottrell, J. T. Hall and Aaron Sisk each had two hits for the Devil Rays who scored two runs in the second, three in the third, one in the sixth and two in the seventh. Erold Andrus connected for a solo home run for Vero Beach. The win went to Chris Kelly (2-1) who pitched two scoreless innings in relief of starter Michael Wlodarczyk. ON DECK: The series continues today at 7 p.m. METS 10, REDS 7The St. Lucie Mets jumped out to a 6-2 lead and hung on to defeat the Sarasota Reds 10-7 on Thursday night at Tradition Field. After the Reds came back to tie the score 6-6 in the fifth inning, the Mets broke the tie in the bottom half of the inning as Drew Butera singled in Dustin Martin. St. Lucie added another run in the sixth on an RBI triple by Martin for a 8-6 lead. Sarasota scored a run in the seventh and the Mets closed out the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Ryan Coultas singled home Emmanuel Garcia and Jamar Hill scored on a wild pitch. Dan Murphy of the Mets drove in four runs with a three-run homer and a ground out. Jacob Ruckle (4-3) got the win. ON DECK: The series continues today at 7 p.m. on Tribune Giveaway Night as the first 500 fans will receive a free Lapel Pin. It is also Slider's Knothouse Gang Night.
