By Daily News staff The Fort Myers Miracle dropped their season-high fourth straight on Saturday, falling to the Jupiter Hammerheads, 4-1, at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers. Hammerheads starter Jason Vargas threw seven shutout innings and allowed just five hits. The Hammerheads got on the board in the fourth when Reggie Abercrombie walked, stole second, moved to third on a ground out and scored on an infield single by Juan Figueroa. In the fifth, Tony Arnerich walked, Todd Brock doubled and Alejandro De Aza's sacrifice fly got the run home. The Miracle got its only run of the game in the eighth when, with runners at first and second, Kyle Geiger singled to right and drove home Ben Pattee. Webposted May 22, 2005 |
