By Daily News staff The Fort Myers Miracle blew a 6-1 lead and lost their sixth straight game on Monday night, losing to the Vero Beach Dodgers, 12-9, in Vero Beach. Andy LaRoche hit a pair of homers to lead the Dodgers all the way back. Fort Myers' Brock Peterson answered with a two-run homer to give the Miracle an 8-7 lead in the fourth, but the Dodgers outscored Fort Myers, 5-1, after that. The Miracle sent the tying run to the plate in the ninth. After Felix Molina and Denard Span walked, J.R. Taylor drove in Molina with a single to right-center to make it 12-9. Ben Pattee and Peterson, however, struck out to end the game. The same two teams meet tonight in Vero Beach at 7 p.m. The game can be heard live on Sports Radio 770 ESPN. Webposted May 24, 2005 |
