DAYTONA BEACH — The Fort Myers Miracle earned their first win in Jackie Robinson Ballpark since 2003 on Tuesday, riding the arm of Errol Simonitsch and some solid hitting throughout the lineup to beat the Daytona Cubs 9-2 in the Florida State League.

Simonitsch was masterful. He hurled eight innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, while walking one and striking out six in picking up his fourth victory of the season.

The Miracle jumped on Cubs starter Carlos Marmos, 4-0, with a 2.48 ERA, coming in.

Omar Burgos' second-inning single scored Kyle Phillips and Ben Pattee for a 2-1 Fort Myers lead.

The Miracle got three runs in the fifth. Brock Peterson, who had three hits, singled in Scott Whitrock. Matt Moses scored when Pattee was hit by a pitch, and a passed ball scored another Fort Myers run.

Whitrock led off the sixth with a double. Moses walked. Brock Peterson singled home Whitrock. Phillips walked and, with the bases loaded, Pattee was hit by a pitch. Another run scored on a passed ball.

In the seventh, Felix Molina doubled in Moses, Peterson scored on a balk, Phillips doubled in Molina and Matt Tolbert brought Phillips home.
