By Sean Aronson FORT MYERS, FL - It took Kevin Slowey five starts to finally earn his first decision, a victory on Sunday afternoon at Terry Park. It was worth the wait, as the victory capped off an impressive two start week earning him the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week Honor for the week of April 24-30. In two starts, Slowey was 1-0, 0.75. In 12.0 innings pitched he allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits while walking one and striking out one. The 21-year-old was a second round draft pick by the Minnesota Twins in 2005. During the 2006 season he is fourth in the league in ERA (1.53) and tied for second in strikeouts (34) with teammate Matt Garza. In 2005 Slowey was named Midwest League Pitcher of the week once. This is the first Player of the Week Honor that a Miracle player has received this season. Webposted on May 2, 2006
