PORT ST. LUCIE — For the fourth time in a week, the Fort Myers Miracle found themselves with a three-hit performance on offense as the St. Lucie Mets cruised to a 8-0 win over the Miracle on Saturday night.

With the defeat at Tradition Field, the Miracle have now lost eight straight Florida State League games and 12 of their last 14.

St. Lucie wasted no time putting the Miracle in an early hole, scoring four runs in the opening inning. Sean Henry led off the game with a ground ball to short and reached safely as Toby Gardenhire's throw to first pulled Whit Robbins off the bag.

Henry later scored the first run on Dan Murphy's double to left. After Murphy's double, designated hitter Jamar Hill brought in two more runs on a double and later scored himself on a Corey Coles base hit.

The Mets tacked on three more in the fourth, capitalizing on another Miracle error.

Game 2 of the series at Tradition Field will see the Miracle send right-hander Jay Rainville (2-3, 2.63 ERA) to the mound against Mets righty Robert Parnell (1-1, 1.88 ERA).
